I am taking in lots of great information about technology and education. Most of my time has been spent learning about web 2.o tools and mobile apps. I am currently in a google apps class and realized it has been over a year since I have posted anything. A lot has happened! Last summer I finished my Library Media Certification. I did my research on web 2.o tools and literacy. I graduated from Mankato in May with a Library Media Specialist Degree. This spring I ended my career as a special education teacher and will begin a new career as a computer teacher for our two elementary schools. I have learned to the computer curriculum and help students apply their computer skills towards literacy.

Blogging for Education

I just looked at a classmate's blog intended to encourage staff to communicate about their ideas and thoughts about technology. I really like that idea. I think that may be a good thing to recommend to our school district. We do not have anything really going yet and this would give support to others. I am so excited to get going on blogs with students an if we can entice more teachers through things like a technology blog for staff and parents too there will probably be more support for using web 2.0 tools in the classroom.

Working on the Blog

I Have Begun to Create a Blog for a Classroom

I have been keeping up with my edublogs blog and that is one about my reflections as I am learning through my Library Media Specialist program and Minnesota State University-Mankato. I am trying to create this blog as one for a classroom setting. I am not sure how to get learners as authors on this site, but it seems they nee to have an email address. In our district they do not so I may use the people in my class unless I can figure out a way to allow learners in my room to be authors. I created a blidget of my blog but can not figure hot how to get it on this site. It acts a bit like an RSS feed. That may be easier in the long run. I pasted the blidget url in this post and it came up. And I just went back to Widgetbox and ws able to add it as a widget when I clicked the blogger button.
